Extra! Extra! (11:08 PM)

tomorrow is ORD day. its a bittersweet feeling eh. I kinda can't bear to leave the Batallion. The military actually exposes you to a whole lot of experiences. There're many things which you can't get out of the army.

Man management is definitely one. how are you going to convince and motivate one group of personnel who're forced to be doing tough work like these? what about those down PES personnels, who are not yet contented with the already better treatment but just want to challenge you all the way? how are you going to motivate/discipline them?

Traveling to SAF training grounds, local or overseas and experience mother nature at its most raw conditions. in our urban society, we'd probably not; or we'd avoid stepping unto grass even. when you dawn on the number 4 and FBO, the dirt, insects, smell all don't matter anymore. we're caveman!

respecting command. commanding respect. only in the military will you be able to fault/charge people for doing the wrong things. when you notice some idiot at your work place testing the system, buying MC, you probably can't do much as a fellow colleague or sub-unit leader. in the military, you can give them extras, or even charge them. personally i cannot stand idiots who always test the system.

camaraderie. where else can you bond so close. when a bunk plays loud partying music, one head pops out. 'shall we go?' and you get a 4 man team to club. usually consists of any combination of the following: Kelvin Tan, Sham, Shawn, Norton, Joshua and myself. Charlie PCs and the Deputy PSOs are the most happening bunch!

I've learnt a lot from my superiors, senior officers, and even the men themselves taught me lessons from all perspective. these people come from all walks of life. would like to extend personal gratitude to CO, PSOs for being such great role models.

I will miss the DYs, and our Quatermaster. Joshua for always doing all the wrong things that seems damn funny. Norton for being my buddy. Anwar for being that guy who knows and finds out about everything. Kelvin for being himself, being damn nice. Sham for his spontaneous acts. Shawn, my long time buddy since BMT.. Despite all his foolish acts, I make it a point to defend him in front of people okay.

from my Branch, Kerner and Zhiwen has made an impact in my working life. personally they proved to me how much a clerk can do, and how capable they are. of very different background and character, there is no difference to their standards and they're definitely really good friends of mine.

1 Guards Battalion have done well. 14th Mono gave me really great memories that I will carry with me, share with my children. I may not have gotten my ideal PC appointment, but nonetheless I am proud to be part of this 'garang' organization.

I always remind myself, I am a Guards Officer. First a Guardsman, then an officer. This is how much the tab meant to me as a soldier.

We, are guardsman warriors
Resolute in loyalty
Steadfast in commitment
We fight for our country, our home and our family

Land warriors from Air and Sea
Unfailing in toughness
Valiant in our actions
We destroy all foes who challenge our mission

We, are elite warriors
With daring initiative
We rule the day, and we rule the night

Always ready, ready to strike!

Extra! Extra! (9:00 PM)

hi, i havent penned down anything in this blog for a long while. oh wait, before i begin, im actually reporting live from my new MacBook Pro 13"

how cool is that! i finally got my macbook. i guess i didnt get the best deal I could, especially after James Low told me he had $600 discount on facebook. Damnit James.

So much have passed since I last wrote. I embarked on my Part-Time Bridging, nearly could not take exams because the school had some error with my attendance. I attended almost every lecture and was recorded as 41%, 58% for Math and Econs respective. How crazy is that. Lucky I found that out 1 day in advance. Thank God. Sometimes I really think someone, God, is watching over me. The exams were of a comfortable standard, and all the mugging with Alvin and Victor paid off.

I've already picked my time table, and will go to school only on Tuesday and Wednesday, 12 - 6. :) Cant wait for school to start on Sep 22, I only have 1 simple aim for my degree program, graduate with first class honors. It's gonna be tough, but this time I really want to follow through my aim. I don't want OCS story to repeat.

Looking at the timetable, am going to take up some part time odd jobs to keep the income coming. Army is gonna end, I'd probably do an ORD entry on Friday. I really have nothing to bitch about SAF anyway. I found my 2 years really meaningful.

Anyway, instead of bodybuilding I am slowly transiting to crossfit training. I decided it would be more challenging and ideal too train as an individual, as well as opportunity for me to push myself to the limits physically without army. That will instill a stronger mental willpower in me.

Everyone is moving on. I will miss the army boys. :(

Gonna book in for my last 3 days in camp. Whoohoo.

Extra! Extra! (11:50 AM)

my men said 'sunday is supposed to be a relaxing day, and yet you're thinking of my confinement'. Does the world stop on Sunday? Honestly, if he were like any other cooperative guys in the battalion, not trying to deceive/smoke me all the time, I wouldn't have fucking be so cautious about him.

if I weren't an officer I would have punched him in his face for all the annoying things he have been doing. but then again, I wouldn't have the authority to take action on these kind of ridiculous acts.

see the doctor 4 times a week, damn poor thing sia. but you can play sports and go for try-outs. I am very sure doing office work, in fact you werent even in office 90% of the time, have been affecting your injury.

awww.. **** you, understand. this is the army. serve your 2 year liability like the rest of the Singaporean men and stop whining.

Extra! Extra! (10:45 AM)

school started on monday, and I started tuesday technically, due to some admin issues. school life is seriously taking its toll on my bank account! really hope that degree pays off in future.

had a friend who broke up with his girl after 4 years? is that the plateau in every relationship? sucks to hear people around you break up, seriously. anyway because of that we went to rebel. it was not much of what i call fun, but at least I didn't get treated like the other time so it was bearable.

anyway, despite what people say, i dont see the need to stop being who I am la. I'm not the sort who'd take advantage of situations. I do things because I feel like it and I usually don't have other motives.
